Johnny Greaves started racing at the tender age of just five years old. By 17 he was already contracted to Paton & Black Racing Co, competing on land and sea, from circuit racing and speedway to stock cars, drag cars and offshore power boats. In these early years it wasn't uncommon for Johnny to be found at race tracks even, when the circuits were closed, mentally visualizing racing laps. By 21 he had completed his engineering studies, played state level Rugby Union and survived a stint in the Army.

Requiring funding to compete internationally in European, American and United Kingdom Single Seater Formula racing as a prelude to Formula 1 and Indy Car competitions, he began door knocking Sydney real estate agencies. Eastern Suburbs property identity John McGrath immediately recognized a like-minded, driven enterpriser and Johnny became his first salesperson in Woollahra.

Over the next few years with McGrath's, Johnny worked 80 hour weeks to fund his formative international racing career. He attended the world's most sought-after French and English Grand Prix racing schools, whose past alumni include four time World Formula 1 Champion Alain Prost and Indy 500 winner and Formula 1 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi. Since 2000 Johnny has been in demand at racing circuits around Australia as a trainer and coach for Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Mercedes, Lexus and Jaguar.
